Going to Siena for the day last Saturday on a whim was even better than I expected. Taking the train there, we were able to see even more of the Tuscan country side, which is, as cliche as it sounds, absolutely breathtaking. We spent the day walking around the city, eating, drinking and taking in the beauty of Siena, and I quickly fell in love with its narrow, winding, hilly streets and unique architectural styles, not to mention how delicious the food and wine were. After lunch, we spent the afternoon sprawled out on the side of a hill overlooking the city drinking wine, shopping, and accidentally stumbled upon a wedding party in a piazza. Overall, a great adventure with good people.
