On Friday we went to the Malenchini winery outside of Florence in the heart of Chianti country for a tour of the winery and a wine tasting. It was exciting to see this part of Italy - although I haven't been to Florence before, it is still an Italian city, and getting to see the countryside was something new. I left with two bottles of their Chianti and a hand-illustrated cookbook. Unfortunately, on the bus ride home, my wallet was stolen out of my purse, albeit my attempts to be hyper-aware of who is around me. Despite that, however, I think that this has been my favorite day so far, besides our trip to Siena yesterday.
