These photos are from Palazzo Medici and Cappelle di Medici, two important buildings in Medici family history located in the heart of Florence. Having known next to nothing about this Renaissance-era ruling family prior to going abroad, I was absolutely fascinated by the social, political, economic and cultural history of the Medici and their relationship to the city and its people.
